Any website should put profit on the bottom line in some way. You would not buy any other business asset that did not make a contribution in some way, would you?

So, if you were planning to have your son or nephew build you a "free" website for your business then you may wish to think again.

Poor Content on the site

The biggest issue most website designers will tell you that they have with any project is getting content from you - the client.

Why is that? Because website designers tend to be either technologists or graphics designers. They are not usually business savvy and so are usually poorly placed to advise on this subject.

Apart from the content you write and supply for the website, there is "hidden" content that the website designer develops for you.

Additionally, Google provides advice on how to get new websites found and understood quickly. Again, we notice that this has been overlooked by many "web techies".

Whenever we implement such techniques on websites we have not built ourselves the results can be stunning to the business owners.

[OK; there are other search engines but in the UK at least, Google continues to dominate the business services search traffic.]

Is there enough traffic arriving at the site?
When visitors arrive there, is there a plan of action as to what you want them to see and do they follow it?
